Weston Youth Ability Football Club

Weekly Football Sessions for young people

with special needs

North Somerset School Sports Partnership and Somerset FA have teamed up to set up the Weston Ability Football Club. This football club is for young people aged 7-11 & 12-16 with special educational needs and / or disabilities. These sessions are pan disability football sessions, which basically means young people with varying disabilities can come together and play together!

This is the first football opportunity available for young people with disabilities in the area so it is a great step forward in establishing the ethos of ‘Football for All’.

These sessions take place on Wednesdays from 6.30pm-7.30pm at The Campus in Weston Super Mare. The sessions will take place once a week from this date and run in parallel with the school terms.

An FA qualified coach coaches the sessions, with support from staff at Baytree School.

These football sessions are in place to offer pupils from Baytree, Westhaven and Ravenswood the opportunity to be playing football outside of School hours. The club is open to the community and we hope young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities from other schools in the area will come along and join in!

If you are interested in further information regarding the above club or disability football in general, please contact Rachael Edwards, Disability Football Development Officer on 07533 816510 or via email at Rachael.edwards@somersetfa.com.
