Last Sunday Team Bath Futsal Club Mens 1sts won the Midlands Regional Futsal Qualifier at North Solihull Sports Centre. The National League side won 2 and drew 1 of its 3 matches scoring 19 goals on the way to topping the group. The University side played some high quality Futsal and will be in high spirits when heading to Sheffield for the finals in September.
The Mens 2nds competing in the South West Regional Qualifier after winning the Somerset FA County Futsal League were knocked out at the semi final stage to Torpoint Athletic who beat National side Hereford in the Final. The 2nds will be hoping to go one better and make the Finals next season.
However, the Mens 1sts have been joined by the Womens 1sts who beat Yeovil Town Ladies 7-5 a few weeks back down at Yeovil College in a close match. The game was played at a fast pace and the students exrta experience came through in the end to win the game. They also sit 2nd in the Thursday night @Futsal League in Swindon.
Futsal opportunities at the University of Bath keep growing as come September will see the creation of its first youth side, Team Bath Futsal Club u16s.
