sudden cardiac arrest

The FA Launch Sudden Cardiac Arrest E-Learning Module

A sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) could happen to anyone, this module will help prepare communities for SCAs.

Fletcher Payne, Joel Lobanzo and Nacho Barbera all have one thing in common. They have sadly lost their lives aged no more than 17 after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest whilst participating in football.

Ugo Ehiogu, a coach at Tottenham Hotspur also sadly lost his life to the same fate; aged just 44 and in good physical health.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) can affect anyone of any age. Being prepared and equipped with the right knowledge can save a person's life. It's for this reason that the FA have launched a FREE 1-hour E-Learning Module to equip anyone wishing to learn with vital life-saving skills.

Upon completion, learners will be awarded one hour of CPD and also an FA Certificate.

You can further equip yourself for this by finding out where your nearest Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is located. View this UK-wide map.

Somerset FA have an AED based in our offices which we also take with us to events. Clubs can purchase their own AED's through our First Aid partner, KOOLPAK, for a discounted rate.
