Dawn Prior

Somerset FA are sad to announce the death of the former Women's and Girls U18 Representative team manager, Dawn Prior.

Initially Dawn managed the county Women's team before taking over the Girls U18 team after adult representative football ceased. She manged the Women's team for many years during which the team often reached the South West Counties Championship Final. Dawn was a major figure in Women's football in the County for many years, as well as her county commitments she was a player and manager of Frome Town Ladies for many years and also was a driving force in the Somerset County Women's League, where she remained a member of the committee.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends and former colleague with football in Somerset. Our sympathies are with her family and friends

Following a private cremation at Haycombe, Bath, A celebration of Dawn’s life will take place at the PARISH CHURCH OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST, THE GREEN, HINTON CHARTERHOUSE, NR BATH BA2 7TJ AT 11.45AM ON NOVEMBER 22ND

Dawn requested Family flowers and donations to/or Dorothy House and following the exemplary care she received from Frome Community Hospital, donations to The Friends of Frome Hospital. (NOT Frome hospital) These can be made via an on-line memorial site for Dawn, where we welcome you to leave messages of your memories of Dawn.

Everyone is then invited you to THE STANDERWICK CENTRE, STANDERWICK, FROME, BA11 2QB at approx 1pm.

Dawn was particularly insistent that all who can attend the after service refreshments do so. Please do try to stay and attend.

There will be a book available and you are invited you to bring photographs of you with Dawn, so that you can insert the photograph in the book, along with writing your favourite memories of Dawn.

Please note: Whilst there is plenty of on street parking near to the church you may have to walk a distance. There are likely to be a large number of mourners. Please do take this into account when traveling and then parking. There are very large car parks at Standerwick which should be able to accommodate parking of any numbers.
