Apply to become an SSE Wildcats Centre for 2018-19!

The Football Association and SSE have teamed up to create SSE Wildcats, designed to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to be involved in the sport.

SSE Wildcats Girl's Football Clubs provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.

In Somerset we have 14 established Centres all delivering excellent fun football sessions for novice female players.

Many clubs have used this programme to support the development of younger age groups at their clubs or to support young players from the Centre into one of their teams!

SSE Wildcats Centres take place on a weekly basis, either after school or at weekends, subject to the local club. They will provide a safe environment where girls with no football experience can; have fun engaging with sport, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions, learn new things and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

Each SSE Wildcats centre will be run in conjunction with local County FA's and utilising qualified coached and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

Julie Bowker, Coach at Bishops Lydeard SSE Wildcats said “The SSE Wildcats Programme has been really positive for our club, we’ve seen new players come into the centre and try football for the first time and make friends.  It’s a fantastic programme to help players with confidence and just enjoy the game and we’ve found they love it so much they keep on coming and now also come along to our club football sessions!”

We are delighted to announce that the SSE Wildcats Programme will be opening their window for applications on Thursday 1st November 2018.
