Female Football Month 

March is Female Football Month in Somerset and we've got a great host of events happening to promote the female game for the whole month.

March is Female Football Month in Somerset, we're supporting the vibrant women's game in our county all through March and holding extra opportunities for more people to get involved in the female game which we've compiled below. 


Please note, from March 16th, ALL events listed below have been postponed indefinitely. 

 

Female Level 1 Coaching Course

Dates: 7th, 10th, 14th, 18th, 21st and 28th March 2020 
At Bridgwater & Taunton College, Bridgwater
We are delighted to be hosting our first Female Only Level 1 in over 2 years.  A great opportunity for females to achieve the Level 1 workshop for the benefit of the female game and supporting players in the County.  Coach Education bursaries area available, so please get in touch and sign up for the course.

Girls U11s Development Festival

Somerset FA in partnership with Somerset Girls Football league deliver monthly U11s festivals for U11s girls teams across the County.  The festival is a great first step into competitive football and we currently have 14 teams take part.  The festival takes place on Saturday 14th March 2020, 10am – 12.30pm at Strode College Sports Centre.  For more information or to enquire about entering a team, please contact: Rachael.lawler-edwards@somersetfa.com


Regional Wildcats Programme CPD

The Wildcats programme is for 5-11 year old girls who want to try football, either for the first time, or as an extra playing opportunity.  In Somerset we have 25 Wildcats Centres across the County, with another potential 7 new centres coming on board in April 2020.  The FA are hosting a Regional CPD Event for coaches / volunteers involved in the programme on Sunday 15th March 2020, 9.30am – 4.30pm at Bath University.

FA Women’s National League Fixture – Yeovil Town Women FC vs Keynsham Town FC

An exciting fixture clash between 2 of Somerset’s top female teams! Yeovil Town Women host Keynsham at Clayson Stadium in Dorchester on Wednesday 18th March 2020, 7.45pm Kick Off! Girls Mini Soccer & Wildcats Participation Festival

Girls football is one of the fastest growing formats of the game in Somerset and more and more younger players are wanting to take part.  We are delighted to be working in partnership with Somerset Girls Football League and Taunton Youth League to develop Girls mini soccer opportunities.  We will be hosting a festival for U8s and U10s on Saturday 21st March 2020, 10am – 12.30pm at Strode College Sports Centre.  To enquire or to enter a team sign up here:  or please get in touch: Rachael.lawler-edwards@somersetfa.com

Somerset Girls Football League Finals Day

Somerset Girls Football League (SGFL) will be hosting their League Cup Finals all on the same day: Saturday 28th March 2020 at Strode College Sports Centre.  The League Cup Finals for U12s, U13s, U14s, U15s will take place throughout the day and will no doubt be a great day and showcase for competitive girls football in the County! 



Somerset FA Small Sided Series

Somerset FA are running a Small Sided Series, which is aimed at players wanting to play fun, recreational small sided festivals.  Get your mates together, put your boots on and join in! Saturday 28th March 2020, 12noon – 4pm at Yeovil Recreational Ground.
