Train Like a Lioness - Female Talent ID Event

Somerset FA, in partnership with England Football, is hosting a ‘Train like a Lioness’ Event in South Bristol on Wednesday 15th February 2023.

We want to identify female players playing within mixed teams in the North of the County (from U9s up to U14s) who would like to attend our event, to have the potential to be selected to be part of the Female England Talent Pathway.  The female talent pathway doesn’t take players away from their grassroots clubs, it only compliments their grassroots football and offers them even more opportunities to progress and develop, with the ultimate goal to one day represent England!

An England football statistic for the South West, is that 100% of players playing within the England pathway (youth and Seniors) STARTED in mixed football.  Somerset is one of the largest counties for female playing in mixed football so we know there are many female players accessing great football opportunities within mixed teams and leagues, however we don’t necessarily know them all – this is a great chance to find these players and work with them!

All details are below, and for players to register for the event, they can complete this link:

Date: Wednesday 15th February 2023
Venue: South Bristol Sports Ground (Imperial Sports Ground), West Town Lane, Bristol, BS14 9EA
Age Groups & Times: U9s/U10s/U11s – Times: 2.30pm – 4pm
Age Groups & Times: U12s/U13s/U14s – Times: 4pm – 5.30pm

We are looking for players not currently playing within the talent pathway, i.e. if a Player is accessing the Emerging Talent Centre programme, this is excellent and we know about them and can support them.  We want to find the players that don’t currently access this provision.

Thank you in advance for your help to spread the message about this event – we are excited to get to know players in the North Somerset, South Bristol, BANES area, and support their development.
