SOMERSET FA Community champion for women & Girls - Geoff Stevens

We are delighted to continue our work with Geoff Stevens as our Somerset Community Champion for Women & Girls.

Geoff has been working within an FA Mentor role for a few years and has a vast amount of experience supporting coaches on pitch and through FA coaching qualifications as an FA tutor.  Geoff has a lot of experience in running programmes for female players in Bath, he runs 2 Wildcats Centres, a Squad Girls Football Programme and a Just Play 16+ Female only session, so has a great understanding of how clubs and programmes are key to supporting female players to enjoy and thrive within football.

Geoff’s main role is supporting clubs, Wildcat Centres, Squad Girl Football, and Just Play programmes with what they are delivering on pitch with players. Geoff is here to help support coaches, upskill volunteers with practical and ongoing ‘on pitch’ support.

Geoff’s remit is the whole of Somerset and can be flexible in his approach to working with clubs or programmes. Geoff can offer bespoke visits to check in and have a general catch up or we can organise a more planned approach of up to 10 hours with individual clubs.  If you would like Geoff’s support please contact Geoff direct at: Geoff.stevens@thefa.com or Rachael.lawler-edwards@somersetfa.com.

Geoff’s role is another example of key people on the ground, helping to grow the female game in Somerset, so please don’t hesitate to reach out for support if you want to start, grow or develop female provision within your club or organisation.
